Getting to Know You

I've been here for a month... but this is my first post. Sorry for hopping on this train a bit behind schedule. Christine Zuercher was all like, "You should start a blog" last night... so I did. Because I need another internet distraction :D Anyways...
I live with a host family, which is very awesome. It gives me a chance to practice my French in a non-judgemental environment with built-in constructive criticism. This family consists of the following members:
Benoit; patriarch, dancer, teller of bad jokes... but we love him anyways
Anne; ultimate support, motivator, and referee
Maxime; eldest child studying medicine who does not live at home, but frequently comes by for a meal or the use of the laundary machine
Charlie; see above, only replace the medicine part with acting
Manon; teenager who seems to understand my broken french the best
Poupousse; the most badass cat in the world, he knows how to cheer anyone up
The chickens; yes, in the middle of the city, there are 4 chickens in the back yard that provide super-fresh eggs, and I am quite sure they do not have designated names
They are all super kind and helpful. We eat meals together on a nightly basis, and Anne makes sure there's always something vegeterian for me to eat.
Here is a picture of me with the parents:

I am wearing a crown because I succeed at life... and also because I found the figurine in the galette (cake thing) we were eating for dessert, which made me the Queen.
So... I get my own room and my own bathroom. Here's my room:
And here's France from my room:
Angers is small and beautiful and the government lends me a bike... fo' FREE! Even though everywhere I need to get to or want to get to in the city is about 25 minutes away, the rapidness of the bike aids in dire emergencies. AND IT HAS A BASKET!
All is not fun and games, however...
Tune in tomorrow for class schinannigans :)
